About our teachers:
Remy Pajaczkowski-Russell is a Sydney based ceramicist who works between making production domestic ware and his sculptural practice. He trained in Sydney at the National Art School majoring in ceramics before moving to France to work in traditional French studio potteries in La Borne. Since returning from France, Remy has been working in the ceramic field in Sydney in a variety of different roles, from artists assistant and studio management to teaching and course designing.
EJ is a Sydney based artist born in 'the good Korea'. She studied her Honours majoring sculpture at the Sydney College of the Arts. She's recently shown her sculptures at the 541 Art space, The Other Art fair, Kerry Lowe Gallery, Australian Ceramics Triennale in Hobart and a solo show with Electrofringe. Her practice is experimental and cross disciplinary, combining different mediums such as performance, video and ceramics. She wasn’t always interested with wheel throwing, it was only when she had a humbling experience learning complexity of wheel throwing. She vividly dreamt of wheel throwing, waking up in confusion as her hands were clean and dry.
