Domestic knitting machines are fantastic for creating patterns and there are so many options to choose from! Once you understand how the patterns work it is then possible to move on to designing and creating your own.

This advanced class is for anyone that has completed the full day Machine Kitting: Stitch and Pattern class and is ready to delve a little deeper into the patterning functions available using punch cards.

We Will Cover:

  • using punch cards
  • advanced machine options
  • Fair-isle, tuck, slip-stitch, weave and intarsia.

This class is all about technique so there will be no final project. At the end of the class you will have swatches to represent all the patterns you have learnt.

Once you have taken this course you can continue to use the machines as a MakerSpace members, or hone your new skills in our monthly supervised drop-in knit space sessions.

Brother or Singer??? Do you have a knitting machine at home or have your eye on one? If you do and would like to learn your new skills on the machine you have please let us know. We have the choice of Brother or Singer.
