Description

Looking to take your throwing skills to the next level – and become more efficient and competent at throwing production ware? This class will seriously increase your capacity for making!

This class is not for beginners – if you can confidently centre half a kilogram pieces of clay this course is an ideal place to push your self with the aim of drastically improving your throwing abilities.

Limited to 6 participants, the class ensures plenty of high quality feedback from Remy. Every session you will throw, throw and throw some more, the focus will be on building skill rather than producing objects. You will learn techniques and processes that you can continue to hone independently and take your practice – as a committed hobbyist or as a business – to the next level.

 The subjects covered:

  • Centering a large ball of clay (over 1kg)
  • Throwing off the hump
  • Throwing multiples
  • Techniques to improve speed and efficiency
  • Form development

Your teacher,  Remy Pajaczkowski-Russell is a Sydney based ceramicist who works between making production domestic ware and his sculptural practice.

He trained in Sydney at the National Art School majoring in ceramics before moving to France to work in traditional French studio potteries in La Borne.

Since returning from France, Remy has been working in the ceramic field in Sydney in a variety of different roles, from artists assistant and studio management to teaching and course designing.

Excellent! The teacher was extremely patient and clear in his teaching. All the administrative dealings were prompt and efficient. No issues at all. I'm a very happy customer.
